Why don't we find White Sage or Palo Santo at Sciences Maudites?

We sell various other herbs and smudge sticks, but not white sage. Our selection includes—among others (though availability may vary at the time of your visit)—pine, cedar, blue sage, mountain sage, lavender, and mugwort bundles.

We prefer to respect Indigenous practices and leave them to the communities to whom they belong. Indeed, you will find no references to "closed practices" associated with the products in our shop.

As for Palo santo, it comes from a tree whose wood is frequently harvested unethically. Ideally, only fallen branches should be collected, yet it is all too common for entire trees to be cut down illegally. For this reason, we prefer to offer alternatives such as sandalwood or cedarwood sticks. However, whenever we can source 100% ethically harvested Palo santo—such as essential oil—we do so.
